STUDY IN THE USA
The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). The program offers scholarships for African students from Sub-Saharan Africa to study in the US and gain leadership and business skills.
To be eligible, an applicant must have a proven record of leadership in civic engagement, public service, or business. They must also commit to return to Africa and apply leadership skills and training to benefit their country and or community after they return home.
Batswana recipients include poet, filmmaker and activist Mmakgosi Anita Tau, admitted attorney and development practitioner Mpule Kgetsi, and Prime Coaching's Mompoloki Makwana.
MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program
These scholarships are for African students to study in the US and selected African institutions. The program provides financial, social, and academic support to scholars. Financial assistance includes, but is not limited to, tuition fees, accommodation, and books.
The MasterCard Foundation provides various scholarships with a variety of application periods.
